Inside a Dreamscape: New Zealand

Liverpool Hut, Mt. Aspiring National Park

A dream destination that I can confirm — is indeed better in person.

About five years ago, I saw my first images of New Zealand, and something deep within me knew I had to experience it for myself one day. I wanted to be reminded of just how small we are in the grand scheme of things and the power of nature.

In 2025, I answered that call—and it was even more surreal than I had imagined. Arriving in New Zealand was emotional — somehow, by some miracle, I had gotten myself across the world AND I had time to explore it deeply. A priority for this year and an absolute privilege I feel very grateful for.

I spent 3 months roadtripping — summiting mountains to watch sunrises, swimming alongside sea life and standing in awe before ancient glaciers. I even bungee-jumped off a bridge and canyoned through an ice-cold river. As a nature and adventure lover, my mind and soul was truly happy.

Photo Series

If you ever find yourself planning a trip to New Zealand, be prepared, the beauty is breathtaking, and no photograph can truly capture the feeling of actually being there. You need to wake up in the middle of the night, step outside your car, and gaze up at a sky overflowing with stars. You have to witness hundreds of waterfalls cascading down sheer cliffs after a heavy rainfall. And of course, chase after a persistent (and mischevious) Weka bird that stole your food.

New Zealand left me at a loss for words. It was an experience that felt both humbling and expansive, and I am already yearning to return. Very early on, I learned to keep my camera within arm’s reach at all times because around every windy corner was guaranteed to be something worth capturing.

Below are some of my favorite photographs from the journey.
